چکیده
A flood risk assessment of urban areas in Kaohsiung city along the Dianbao River was performed based on hazards and social vulnerability. In terms hazard analysis, a rainfall-runoff model (HEC-HMS) adopted to simulate discharges watershed, simulated were utilized as inputs for inundation (FLO-2D). Comparisons between observed at Wulilin Bridge flow station during Typhoon Kongrey (2013) Megi (2016) used HEC-HMS calibration validation, respectively. The water levels Changrun FLO-2D results indicated that reasonably reproduced observations. validated then applied predict depths extents under 50-, 100-, 200-year rainfall return periods form maps. For vulnerability, fuzzy Delphi method analytic hierarchy process employed select main factors affecting vulnerability yield weight each factor. Subsequently, map built. developed compiled both levels. Based map, mitigation strategies with structural nonstructural measures proposed consideration by decision-makers.

A Framework for Flood Risk Analysis and Benefit Assessment of Flood Control Measures in Urban Areas
Flood risk analysis is more complex in urban areas than that in rural areas because of their closely packed buildings, different kinds of land uses, and large number of flood control works and drainage systems. The purpose of this paper is to propose a practical framework for flood risk analysis and benefit assessment of flood control measures in urban areas. Based on the concept of disaster ri...
متن کاملDesertification risk assessment in southern Mediterranean areas
The paper deals some important aspects concerning the study of desertification phenomenon that has significantly interested all European countries of the Mediterranean basin in the last decades. The territorial sensibility, qualitatively and/or quantitatively, of the risk related to the desertification processes has been valued as grade of susceptibility to the phenomenon in the study area, wit...
متن کاملHealth risk assessment of groundwater arsenic pollution in southern Taiwan.
Residents of the Pingtung Plain, Taiwan, use groundwater for drinking. However, monitoring results showed that a considerable portion of groundwater has an As concentration higher than the safe drinking water regulation of 10 μg/L. Considering residents of the Pingtung Plain continue to use groundwater for drinking, this study attempted to evaluate the exposure and health risk from drinking gro...
متن کاملAssessment of the Potential Flood Risk in Sarbaz Drainage Basin
Today, due to climate change, natural hazards and how to deal with them are among the most important concerns of researchers in environmental planning and crisis management. The purpose of this study is the assessment of the potential flood risk in Sarbaz drainage basin. For this purpose, the databases including elevation, slope, geological characteristics, soil characteristics, precipitation, ...
متن کاملUrban pluvial flood risk assessment based on scenario simulation
In this study, urban pluvial flood risk is studied in an actual study area using scenario simulation method based on hydrodynamics. Real weather data and GIS (Geographic Information System) data are adopted to make the results reliable. A region in Haidian District of Beijing is selected as the study area. All the rainfall scenarios (about 200 scenarios) during an 8-year period (from January 1,...
